India’s leading trade exhibition for printing, signage and related industries, Media Expo Mumbai 2020 took place at Bombay Exhibition Center from February 20-22. For the first time ever, Media Expo also hosted Media Expo Excellence Awards (MEA)

The 46th edition of Media Expo, the international trade exhibition for the indoor and outdoor advertising and signage industry in a sprawling 10,600 sq m exhibition space with more than 150 exhibitors and participation of 12 companies across the globe was the perfect venue to meet future technologies. Backed by a successful legacy of over two decades, Media Expo is undoubtedly the most trusted business platform that brings together leading global brands and creative professionals to converge and discover the latest trends in the global signage scenario. The expo is increasing its popularity with each edition and the last year recorded more than 15,000 trade visitors.

Media Expo Excellence Awards (MEA 2020) is all poised to present an ambient platform for brands, vendors and creative agencies to get recognised for their inventive endeavours in campaigns imbibing an innovative as well as a sustainable approach.

Retaining participation from top brands like Hewlett Packard (HP), Fujifilm, Colorjet, Ace Infotex, Mimaki, Negi and Aestrik Techno Signs the fair has also garnered fresh participation from other leading brands, including Shiruni Overseas, Yu Hai Technology, Treckwin, Tes Packaging, M-Trek, Wide Design, Aerolam, Lintec India, AM Laser Tech and Sibco Overseas. This gave the visitors access to new product showcases, technologies and numerous running machines for demonstration.Product Highlights of the expo


The Dimension printer by Apsom Infotec allows continuous printing and embossing simultaneously at up to 30-sq m/hr speed with a print width of 1.6 m. It uses latex eco-friendly inks and PVC-free structuring eco-deco media that provides a highly durable output and does not fade under direct exposure to light media.


Mimaki and Handtop UV printers by Silicon Infotech can execute high speed UV spot printing along with cutting, branding and embossing functions effective in label, signage and wallpaper industries, along with proofing and corporate gifting.

Platinum PCT by True Colours Solutions and Technologies India is an eco-friendly printer first in class for corporate application. Its heavy duty structure and design can render 24×7 operation with high stability.

Eco-friendly and PVC free digital wall media film by Digiwrap is water and UV resistant. Applied with water pressure, the film can adapt to the shape of outdoor walls or any non-flat surface. The new UV Coated Glossy Sun board is an ideal replacement for acrylic sun boards and 60% cheaper as compared to other sunboards. The product can be used for letter cutting, making front lit boards as well as designer drills. Raj Incorporated showcased this product in the expo.

Lintec Ultra Clear Films by Lintec India is an inkjet printable media with scratch-resistant coating and UV-CUT property that blocks harmful UV rays. It is made from eco-friendly polyester film and is available with both permanent and removable adhesive.

Eurolite PVC free Vinyl with grey adhesive back is a great eco-friendly alternative for PVC Vinyls. The application area includes: retail showroom branding, exhibition posters, in-shop displays, POP’s as well as other indoor-branding and wall-graphic applications. The product was displayed by Aditya Digital Technologies.

The new eco-friendly and energy efficient UV LED digital inks for various heads is infused with LED curable innovation and renders vivid colour and brightness. Afford Digital Inks featured the product at the expo.

The XIS Magnus 4V Digital Flatbed UV printing machine by Axis Enterprises can render high resolution printing on any flat surface.


MEA 2020 Award winners
After a remarkable demonstration of original ideas, inventive approach and impeccable execution, the winners of MEA 2020 were awarded for their exemplary works in various campaigns such as the Raymond’s Apparel Ltd-Creaseless Display Unit by Brandmark Solutions Pvt Ltd which went on to bag the ‘Innovative Display of Brand through POS/POP’ award for their innovative concept and design. Incredible campaign by iBall India executed for their Smart Charge Power Bank won them the honour of ‘Innovative Use of Ambient Media’ owing to their apt choice of location and for producing a captivating chemistry through their creativity and brief which really impressed the jury.


For his brilliant contribution in the ‘Save the Girl Child’ campaign, Kalpak Creative Advertising grabbed the ‘Best Vendor’ award for ‘Innovative POP Solutions / Products’. However, the real show stealer of MEA 2020 turned out to be the Times Now LIVE Election broadcast campaign by Times Innovative Media Ltd who through a perfect culmination of creative idea and spot-on execution bagged the ‘Innovative Use of Digital Signages’ as well as the ‘Agency of the Year’ award.
