Sky is the limit for these brothers- Abdu Rahiman MC and Anwar Sadath MC who took their entrepreneurial skills to establish MC Group at GCC Countries and then in Kerala
The growth story of MC Group based in Angadippuram, Malappuram, Kerala started during the 90’s by establishing a well-established QSS Colour Lab at Saudi Arabia and Dubai. For Abdu Rahiman MC and Anwar Sadath MC, the founders of MC Group, taking new challenges is a part of their life.
“We owe our success to the positive attitude we put towards new trends and technology,” says Abdu Rahiman MC. “Back in 90’s when we established MC Digital Studio & QSS Colour lab we had integrated the latest technologies available at that time for our customers,” adds him. They started their own Printing unit MC Creations in their home town after their success abroad.
In 2015, they were interested in the dealership of ColorJet in Saudi Arabia and met with the officials of Apsom Infotex Ltd and after discussion with them, understanding the situation in Kerala they were interested in the dealership. “After meeting with MS Dadu (Founder of Apsom), Ravi Aggarwal (Director, Apsom Infotex Ltd) and Deborshi Paul Choudhury (Sales Head, Apsom Infotex Ltd) we saw their commitment and interest they express to this particular industry we agreed to the dealership in Kerala,” says Anwar Sadath MC.
The tie up with Apsom Group helped the foray of MC Group into Kerala in a faster pace. Rather than being a simple dealer, MC Group gave special attention to the service support, a practice which was uncommon during that period. They appointed a 15year experienced service engineer Anas and he was given charge of a team to handle the service department. In those times, the dealers had no role apart from the billing and MC Group’s policy of prompt service even after the sales helped them to gain many loyal customers. The bond is still stronger even after 25 years and the repeated customers to MC Group aboard is a proof of it.
MC Group commenced its operations in India in the name MC International Trading by 2015 with much care and planning. “We are the exclusive and authorised partners of Apsom Infotex Limited in Kerala who is the leading distributor of global brands for technology products in Large Format Inkjet print markets. The major products are Roland DG and ColorJet India Ltd,” says,Managing Director of MC International Trading, Anwar Sadath MC.
ColorJet India Ltd is India’s largest manufacturer of digital inkjet printers since its inception in 2004. ColorJet is promoted and supported by Apsom Infotex Ltd who was initially the distribution agent of Roland DG (1996) DGI Solvent Printers (2001) and ColorJet India Ltd (2004). ColorJet has a recognised R&D house having rolled out 15 innovative products over a period of 96 months each born under the organisations unique 3E design policy: Economic, Efficient and Ecological.
Currently MC International Trading is dealing mainly two products namely Roland DG and ColorJet India Ltd in which they have a well reputed Eco Solvent Printing machine of Roland DG and Wide Format Inkjet Printers of ColorJet India Ltd. The group is also into importing rare medias that are suitable for eco solvent printing which are good in quality and at a cheaper rate than which is available in the local market.
With more than 15 years of experience in the signage industry abroad and in Kerala the brothers has got a strong insight of the industry. “We have noticed that almost 75% of the Kerala Signage industry is not properly updated about all the aspects of a printing unit. In Kerala the common trend is to confine oneself to a small space without giving any priority to the interior decoration of the office or customer satisfaction. We have witnessed how the lack of a proper machine suited to meet the needs of the customers caused a major reduction in profit for many in the signage industry. In foreign countries, the signage industry is one with very high profitability, but we with such a scope are still facing losses because of these factors. We at MC International provide the guidelines from the starting stage that is suggestions on how one can run the business effectively,” adds them.
Like any field business is also evolving to next levels. That is why MC Group took up the service sector more seriously along with dealership. “We aim to create a long lasting relation with the customers and provide them all the support we can starting from information on the government subsidies they can procure to how they should apply for bank loans. We provide them all the support which provides with the end result of customer satisfaction. We feel happy that we had helped many customers who had been not update tothe new trends in the market and have led them to successful in the industry,” says Anwar Sadath MC.
The top priority at MC International Trading is given to the suitability and needs of the customer. Coming from an entrepreneurial background, the brothers know the struggles faced by new entrepreneurs. Most of the new entrepreneurs might be first time in the signage industry and will have no idea on the wide applications as they could be only familiar with the application of flex only.
Another grave mistake people make is with the price, points out them.Even for a small difference in price and considering the temporary financial gain, most people tend to choose Chinese machines which are widely available in the market. Though the marketing of these products are very high the product fails when it comes to quality. “The people who take these machines will eventually end up in deep trouble. To avoid these kinds of situations, the people of the same industry should be united beyond their differences. Another major trend is the boosting of problems that are not there, this is the marketing strategy of media suppliers wishing to boost the demand of their product. In these situations, the industry should stand together hoping something good will come out of it,” adds Anwar Sadath MC. Regarding the banning of the flex media, they accept the fact that PVC media is harmful for the eco system and will affect the food chain if not used effectively. But they are hopeful about a new media that could replace PVC media. “We have come to know from the media suppliers about new medias’- suitable and eco-friendly. Rather shutting down the entire industry, the possibilities of alternatives must be checked,” adds them.
Apart from the head office, MC Tower located in Angadippuram, MC Group has got a branch in Edappally, Opposite Lulu Mall, Ernakulam where they have a Demo centre and Printing Unit, MC Creations Image Factory with Roland UV printer, ColorJet & Roland Cloth printers and Roland Eco Solvent printer. The branch was inaugurated in September last year by the Honourable Speaker of the Kerala Legislative Assembly P Sreeramakrishnan. The group also deals with Toyo Inks products such as ink and graphic arts which provides very high quality. Perinthalmanna also known popularly as the hospital city of Kerala is also home to Mountain Creek Executive Suites, which is another successful venture of MC Group and has matching three star facilities.
